CEDAR FALLS - Darlene M. Ball, 78, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, May 14, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 2, 1932, in Boxholm, daughter of Lloyd H. and Nellie H. Dahl Swanson. She married Raymond R. Ball on April 4, 1952, in Boxholm.

She received her bachelor of arts degree from UNI, and taught in the Dike, Bouton and Waterloo Community School Systems, retiring in 1982.

Survived by: her husband; a son, Randy (Lauren) of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; a daughter, Rhonda (David) Bottke of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren, Benjamin Bottke, Brooke (Kalen) Kolpek, Brian (Summer) Bottke, and Katherine and Allison Ball; a great-grandchild, Noah Bottke; six brothers, Rollin (Cleo) Swanson of Fort Dodge, Dwain (Dorothy) Swanson of Ankeny, Verle (Mavis) Swanson of Boone, Larry (Evelyn) Swanson of Ogden, Robert (Jan) Swanson of Ankeny, and Kenneth (Betty Jo) Swanson of Boone; and a sister, Yvonne (Lyle) Guhl of Minneapolis.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in West Lawn Cemetery, Lehigh. Public visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
