WATERLOO - Jessie Maybe Cherry, 83, of Waterloo, died Saturday, May 1, at Country View care center of natural causes.

She was born in Geiger, Ala., on April 2, 1927, daughter of Lee Cherry Sr. and Addie Sanders.

She attended Waterloo schools and later moved to Chicago. She was a homemaker for many years.

Survived by: two daughters, Gail Miller of Aurora, Ill., and Eileen Cherry of Milwaukee; a son, Paul Cherry of Milwaukee; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jacqueline Ruth Bradford of Waterloo and Kathleen Ross of Milwaukee; and a brother, Everett Cherry of Milwaukee.

Preceded in death by: two daughters, Darlene and Anita Cherry; and four brothers, Eddie, James, Leonard and Lee Cherry Jr.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Payne Memorial AME Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Public visitation for an hour before services Monday at the church. The family will be receiving friends at 321 W. Dale St. Greer Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
