WATERLOO - Viola E. Carlson, 82, of Waterloo, formerly of Dunkerton, died Wednesday, May 5, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born Feb. 22, 1928, in rural Cedar Falls, daughter of Herman and Mildred Davis Musch. She married Clarence Vernon Carlson on July 14, 1951, in Waterloo. He died Nov. 25, 1965.

Mrs. Carlson worked in the housekeeping department of Allen Hospital for 13 years, retiring in 1988.

Survived by: a son, Robert C. (Luann) Carlson of La Porte City; a daughter, Marilyn Sue (Marvin) Piburn of Hudson; four grandsons, Christopher (Melissa) Carlson, Joshua Carlson, Darrin (Holly) Carlson and Luke Piburn; a stepgrandson, Dylan Bartz; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bernard (Donna) Musch Cedar Falls and Jim (Barb) Musch of Dunkerton; and a sister, Marian (Robert) Wolff of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: three brothers, Clifford, Richard and Don Musch.

Memorial Services: 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity Bible Church, corner of South Main and Orchard Drive, Cedar Falls, with burial at 12:30 p.m. in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Public visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball.
