WATERLOO - James Earl Moten, 68, of Waterloo, died Saturday, May 1, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born July 9, 1941, in Durant, Miss., son of Willie Henry and Katie Mae Hurt Moten. He married Laura Coleman on July 2, 1988, in Waterloo.

Mr. Moten worked in the foundry at Hutchison & Hedford and John Deere. He was a member of Faith Temple Baptist Church.

Survived by: his wife; five sons, Mike (Kate) Gamblin of Dysart, and George (Lenora), Eddie (Joyce), Darryl (Tina) and Perry (Michelle) Gamblin, all of Waterloo; a daughter, Andrea Young of Adelanto, Calif.; 31 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elizabeth Murphy-Adams of Tacoma, Wash., and Frances Lee Lacy of Waterloo.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Temple Baptist Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and for an hour before services Saturday at the church. Greer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials: may be sent to 508 Logan Ave., Waterloo 50703, where the family will receive friends.
