"Francis McNulty died at the base hospital, Camp Humphreys, Va., today of pneumonia." This is the sad message received by Mrs. McNulty at the home of her father, W. H. Huntington, 219 Vine street, at 5 p.m., yesterday. The death message came a few hours after a telegram announcing the serious illness of Mr. McNulty. Disposition of the body was asked, and the remains will be sent here for interment.

Francis McNulty was born in Vinton, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John McNulty, 30 years ago, Dec. 24, and removed to this city with his parents when a young boy, the family home now being 518 Locust street. After graduating from west high, he attended Iowa state university and graduated from that institution. For a time he was assistant city engineer and was called to Dubuque to a similar position. Later he was elected to the position of engineer in Dubuque and re-elected a year ago. Last July he enlisted in the engineer corps and was sent to Camp Humphreys, where he was a member of Third Co., Sec. H. Eng. Officer's Training camp.

Surviving relatives are his widow, to whom he was married here seven years ago, and who during his army service has been employed in the mayor's office as secretary; parents, Mr. and Mrs. John McNulty; two brothers, Charles J., Waterloo and Sergt. W. J. McNulty, Camp Dodge. A son died four years ago.

Funeral arrangements await definite news of the time of the arrival of the body.
