WATERLOO - Rodney P. Ritenour, 63, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, April 21, at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.

He was born Nov. 25, 1946, in Clinton, son of Jerald and Camilla Taylor Ritenour. He married Kathy Stilley on Aug. 17, 1984, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

He graduated from Preston High School in 1965 and from Simpson College in Indianola, receiving a bachelor's degree, in 1969. Mr. Ritenour taught science, phys. ed. and was a basketball coach from 1969-72 at Janesville High School. He worked at John Deere in 1972, retiring in 2001. He was currently employed with Bertch Cabinets.

Survived by: his parents, Jerry and Camilla of Preston; his wife, Kathy; a son, Brian (Kathy) of Palm Bay, Fla.; three daughters, Pam (Randy) Kittleson of Verona, Wisc., Bobbie (Cory) Hackett of Des Moines and Marsha (Garrett) Jacobs of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren, Jaime, Kayla, Kristen, Katelyn, Kaden, Kyrah, Addison, Madisyn, Lexys and Colby; three great-grandchildren, Jake, Loreali and Evan; two brothers, Steve (Shirly) and Kevin (Debbie), both of Preston; and a sister, Ann (Mike) Marolf of Carol Stream, Ill.

Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. today and an hour before services Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials: may be directed to the family.

Rod enjoyed camping, doing yard work, and remodeling. He liked sports, especially the Hawkeyes, Cubs and Bears. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and spoiling them. Rod will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
