Louise M. Newell, 84, of Cedar Falls died at the Windsor Nursing & Rehab Center Wednesday, October 15, 2008 of natural causes.

She was born October 10, 1924 in Waterloo, daughter of Glenn and Irene Swenson Phillips. She married Allan W. Newell in January 1946 in Kansas City, Kansas. They were later divorced.

Mrs. Newell was employed as an accounting clerk at Rath Packing Company for 34 years before retiring.

Survivors include one son, Daryl Newell of Washburn; one brother, Bud (Dorothy) Phillips of Cherry Hill, NJ; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Bonnie Mather.

Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday in the Gleaner section of Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
