CEDAR FALLS - Allen Mabon, 59, of Cedar falls, died March 16 at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, from complications of Huntington's disease.

He was born Feb. 24, 1951, in St. Paul, Minn., son of Lowell and Cleola Rosenow Mabon. He married Cheryl Winnie on June 3, 1972, at First Methodist Church, Coralville.

Mr. Mabon graduated from Plainfield High School in 1969 and from the University of Northern Iowa in 1973 with a bachelor's degree in education. In 1985 he graduated from Business Institute of Technology in computer technology and accounting. He taught industrial technology at Edgewood Colesburg and Kaplan University for several years and later was a carpenter in residential construction. He was a member of Waverly Open Bible Church, Waverly.

Survived by: his wife; three sons, Brent (Katrina) and Eric, both of Cedar Falls, and David (Melissa) of North Liberty; a daughter, Felicia Mabon of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren, Jaxon, Bella and Ruby; a brother, Kevin (Ann) of Guilford, Conn.; and a sister, Linda (Jack) Smiley of Glendale, Ariz.

Preceded in death by: his parents.

Family-directed memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Waverly Open Bible Church, with inurnment at a later date. His body has been donated to Carver College of Medicine University of Iowa, Iowa City. The family will greet friends following the memorial service.
