CEDAR FALLS - Betty Brimm, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, April 10, at the Western Home Communities Martin Center.

She was born Oct. 6, 1920, in Vanderbilt, Pa., daughter of Charles Kiefer and Lillian Means Shallenberger. On May 22, 1949, she married R. Paul Brimm in Cedar Falls. He died Oct. 30, 1985.

Mrs. Brimm served her country in the U.S. Navy (WAVE) during World War II. She received her bachelor's degree from California State Teachers College, California, Pa., and her master's degree from the Teachers College, Columbia University, New York, N.Y.

Survived by: a son, Robert (Kris) of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Ann (Jim) Pfaff of Eldridge and "Shawna" Jean Brimm of Waterloo; and three grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: two sisters, Margaret Kauffman and Joanne Miner.

Memorial services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls. Richardson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials: may be directed to the R. Paul Brimm Scholarship Fund through the UNI Foundation.
