CEDAR FALLS — Mary Catherine "Kay" Rose, 88, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, March 31, at Western Home Communities of natural causes.

She was born Dec. 28, 1921, in Melbourne, daughter of Dr. Charles E. and Ruby Scott Titus. She married Heinz H. Rose on Aug. 22, 1943, at the Wee Kirk O’ The Heather at Forest Lawn in Glendale, Calif.

She attended Melbourne High School and the University of Iowa. She was a saleswoman at the Blacks-Donaldson Department Store in Waterloo-Cedar Falls and retired in 1988. Mrs. Rose was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls.

Survived by: three sons, Eric, Fred (Nancy) and Rod (Laurie), all of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Pamela (Art) Elliott of Philadelphia; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: her husband, Heinz; two brothers, Kenneth and Merle; and a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Rose.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Heartland Vineyard Church, Cedar Falls, with inurnment Saturday at Rose Hill Cemetery, Marshalltown. Public visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to Christian Crusaders, Western Home Communities or Cedar Bend Humane Society.
