WATERLOO - Vernetta Rozina Kayser, 91, of Waterloo, died Saturday, March 20, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born July 24, 1918, in Cushing, daughter of Hans and Anna Miller Kuehl. She married Clarence Albert Kayser on May 13, 1940, in Independence. He died May 24, 2000.

Mrs. Kayser graduated from Rowley High School. She was employed as a secretary of the flowers and garden department of the National Dairy Cattle Congress for 24 years; was employed in sales with Sears department store for 20 years, retiring in 1983; was a member of Elklets for 50 years, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and of St. Edward Catholic Church for 53 years.

Survived by: four sons, Dr. Michael (Janie) of Cedar Falls, Robert (Mary) of Queen Creek, Ariz., and Steven and James (Sherri), both of Waterloo; two daughters, Susan (John) Scally of Rock Island, Ill., and Julie (Doug) Carter of Waterloo; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rozella Williams of Dubuque.

Preceded in death by: an infant son, Clarence Jr.; a sister, Arlene (Glenn) Miller; a brother, Raymond Kuehl; and a brother-in-law, Ken Williams

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Edward Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4 p.m. Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary. Visitation also an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials: may be given in her name to St. Edward Catholic School or Cedar Valley Hospice.
