WATERLOO – Jennie Claassen, 79, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, March 16, at Sartori Memorial Hospital, Cedar Falls.

She was born May 7, 1930, in Grundy County, daughter of Henry and Fanny Ridder Wolters. She married Alvin Claassen on Jan. 21, 1949, in Aplington. He died Jan. 4, 2004.

Mrs. Claassen was employed with Chamberlain Manufacturing Co. for 10 years, retiring in 1963.

Survived by: a son, Randy (Sharri) of Parkersburg; two daughters, Julie (Don) Perry of Waterloo and Marcia (Shawn) McKenna of Evansdale; eight grandchildren, Jeff (Misty) Perry, Tim (Nikki) Perry, Kristy (Jeff) Deuell, Braden, Devin and Dylan Claassen and Jamie and Jessica McKenna; two great-grandchildren, Mia and Cody; a sister, Anna Pagel of Cedar Falls; and five stepsisters.

Preceded in death by: a stepsister.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street and for an hour before services on Saturday at the church.
