WEBER, HEREID, BRINCKS, FERCH, O’BRIEN, HARFORD

Robert Lee Weber died at the Guttenberg Care Center after a long battle with cancer and liver disease. He was the son of Henry and June (Rush) Weber, born in Cresco, on Feb. 7, 1939.

He graduated from Cresco High School in 1957. Robert worked 31 years at John Deere in Waterloo where he retired in 1989. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Hereid in 1960. To this union two daughters were born, Sheila (Ferch) and Kristie Brincks. After Marilyn’s death, Robert married Helen O’Brien Harford on Nov. 1, 2003, at St. Mary’s in Guttenberg. Together they built their dream home overlooking the Mississippi and moved to Guttenberg in March 2004. Robert immensely enjoyed any type of auctions, antiques, playing cards and spending time with his family. He also drove for Brown’s Sales and Leasing for several years.

Robert is survived by his wife, Helen; mother, June of Cresco; daughter, Kristie Brincks of Lawler; three grandchildren, Spc. Paul (Chelsea) Brincks of Fort Rucker, Ala., Melissa Brincks of Cedar Falls and friend Nick Taylor and Kayla Brincks of Lawler; four stepchildren, Susie Harford of Cedar Rapids and friend Mark Horn, Larry O’Brien of Minneapolis, Mike (Sarah) Harford of Fairbank and Tony Harford of Strawberry Point; one great-grandson, Brody Brincks of Fort Rucker; four stepgranddaughters, Michaela Harford and Sadie Harford, both of Fairbank, and Madeline and Lydia Harford, both of Strawberry Point; one brother, Thomas (Betty) Weber of Alvin, Texas; and many friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, and a daughter, Sheila Ferch.

Arrangements are being handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 207 S. First St., Guttenberg, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 4, and one hour before service at church. Funeral service will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guttenberg, at 10 a.m. Friday, March 5, with the Rev. Marvin Bries officiating. Interment will be at Saude Lutheran Cemetery, rural Saude.

In lieu of flowers, plants and all types of gifts, all donations may be directed to the family of Robert Weber.
