WATERLOO - Marlys Morse, 83, of Waterloo, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center, Waterloo, of natural causes.

She was born Feb. 10, 1927, in Waterloo, daughter of William and Harriett Swede McRoberts. She married Calvin G. Morse April 6, 1947, in Waterloo. He died March 27, 1974.

Mrs. Morse graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1945 and attended McPherson College from 1945-46. She was an accountant/bookkeeper at Carney Alexander Marold from 1979-1997.

Survived by: a daughter, Lucinda Tabb, of Waterloo; three sons, Dean (Pam) of Columbia, Tenn., Wayne (Mary) of Eden Prairie, Minn., and Patrick (Heidi) of Waterloo; six grandchildren, Diane Toon, Chanelle Owens, James Morse, Daniel Morse, Katie Morse and Jennifer Singer; nine great-grandchildren, Brianna Toon, Rebekkah Toon, Cameron Toon, Keagan Dircks, Annica Morse, Andrew Owens, Alyssa Owens, Shelden Mauer and Mary Mauer; and two sisters, Virginia (Steve) Miller of Independence and Caryl (Gary) Button of Eldora.

Preceded in death by: a daughter, Janice Marilyn Morse; and two brothers, Kenneth Wayne McRoberts and Donald Eugene McRoberts.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hammond Avenue Brethren Church, with burial in Orange Township Cemetery. Public visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials: may be directed to the church or Cedar Bend Humane Society.
