WATERLOO - Alvera Mary Schoneman, 92, of Waterloo, formerly of Allison, died Friday, Feb, 26, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center, Waterloo.

She was born Sept. 22, 1917, in Butler County, daughter of William and Alvena Schroeder Weinberg. She married Frank Schoneman on Nov. 25, 1945, in Allison. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Schoneman attended country school and graduated from Allison High School and earned her teaching degree from the Iowa State Teachers College. She was employed by the Allison-Bristow School System for 26 years. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Allison.

Survived by: two daughters, Bette (Charles) Wubbena of Waterloo and Doris (David) Schoneman Mongin of Milwaukee; four grandchildren, Michelle and Mark Wubbena, both of Waterloo, Paul (Lisa Wallace) Schoneman Mongin of Woodridge, Ill., and Jon Schoneman Mongin of Milwaukee; and a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Wubbena.

Preceded in death by: five sisters, Roberta Busch, Leona VanHauen, Helena Pagels and Evelyn Hartema and a sister in infancy; and a brother,Wilbur.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. James Lutheran Church, Allison. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Allison, with burial in Allison Cemetery.
