WINTERSET - Emily Lyons, 72, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines. She was born Dec. 10, 1937, in Cedar Falls, to Austin and Lucille Froom.

She enjoyed being with her family, reading and writing.

Emily is survived by her children, Jeff (Corinne) Lyons and Jamie (Bryan) McDonald; her grandchildren, Ben, Adam, Chelsea and Jenna Lyons, and Jake and Breanna Reeves; and great-granddaughters, Sadie and Kaylee.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 3424 Forest Ave., Des Moines. A visitation with the family present will be Tuesday, Jan. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW Ninth St., Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation in loving memory of Emily.
