CEDAR FALLS - Larry Lee Lane, 65, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, Jan. 21, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

He was born Dec. 7, 1944, in Newton, son of George Leo and Wilma Bagnall Lane. He married Linda Bucklin, and they later divorced. He married Sally Sullivan on Oct. 2, 1999, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waterloo.

As a young man, Larry was baptized in the Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and was a heavy equipment operating engineer for several companies, retiring in 2008 from Story Construction Company.

He was a member of Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49.

Survived by: his wife; his mother, Wilma Lane of Newton; three daughters, Lisa Dekins and Lori Lane, both of Des Moines, and Lacey Archer of Colfax; two stepchildren, Kelly Loughren of Cedar Falls and John (Julie) Sullivan of Lenexa, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Mike of Newton, Tim of Spencer and Jim (Liz) of Des Moines.

Preceded in death by: his father.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 and the U.S. Dept. of Defense. Public visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, where there will be a 5 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Monday at the church.
