Leonard C. Quinn

Leonard C. Quinn, 57, of 1252 Logan avenue, died of a carcinoma at 11 p.m. Monday at St. Francis hospital.

He was born May 28, 1892, at Armour, S.D., the son of James and Susan Quinn. He attended Sacred Heart academy in Ackley, Ia., where the family lived for 11 years.

Mr. Quinn lived on a farm near Morrison, Ia., for five years before moving to Waterloo, where he had been a machinist at the John Deere Tractor works for 20 years.

He married Gertrude Worthen in October, 1914 in Waterloo. She preceded him in death May 5, 1930.

He married Mrs. Windelin Gutknecht, February 5, 1936, in Cedar Rapids, Ia.

Mr. Quinn was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary's.

Surviving are the wife, at home; two sons, Leo, 1113 Jefferson street, and Earl, Kent, O.; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Diamond, Hudson, Ia.; Mrs. Marie Klein, 279 Hammond avenue, and Mrs. Kathryn Mabb, 1441 Forest avenue; two brothers, Edward, 315 East Thompson avenue, and Joseph, Coeur d'Alene, Ida., and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Donald and Robert, both killed in the last World war.

The body is at O'Keefe & Towne funeral home where funeral arrangements are pending.
