WHITESIDE, BADGER, HARTMANN, HENRY, WAKEFIELD LIVERANCE

CEDAR FALLS - Adeline C. Whiteside, 80, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at Windsor Care Center. She was born July 3, 1929, the daughter of John and Bernice (Badger) Hartmann in Waterloo. She graduated from Jesup High School in 1947. Adeline married Everett R. Whiteside on June 7, 1952, in Waterloo. He preceded her in death Jan. 2, 1973. Before retirement in 1992, Adeline worked for Black Hawk County Homemaker Health Care. Adeline devoted her life serving her family, friends and community. She served on various committees at her church and was an active volunteer with the Food Bank and Sartori Memorial Hospital and was committee chairperson at Horizon Towers Apartment.

She is survived by two sons, William (Kay) Whiteside of Mitchell, S.D., and Craig Whiteside of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Karen (Scott) Henry of Fredericksburg and Kristi (Dave) Wakefield of Dallas; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer Hiller, Michelle Henry, Rebecca Whiteside, Joseph Miller, Everett Whiteside, Max Wakefield, Mikal, Dakoda and Steven Pepperling, Kirk and Matt Henry and Abby Sauerbrei; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Thelma (Gene) Liverance of Waverly.

Adeline was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Gary Whiteside; one grandson, Dr. Ryan Whiteside; two brothers, Henry and Johnnie Hartmann; and two sisters, Tressa Bige and Betty Womack.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Valley View Baptist Church, with visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at later date in Greenwood Cemetery.
