WATERLOO - Muriel E. Shindley, 81, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Dec. 17, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

She was born Oct. 22, 1928, in Ottumwa, daughter of Ralph J. and Marie E. Anderson Langdale. She married Harold Shindley on July 8, 1949, in Waterloo.

She worked for A-1 Janitorial Service and worked for three years at Schoitz Hospital, four years at Clay Equipment Co., and nine years at the Church of the Brethren. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Veteran and Railway Employees.

Survived by: her husband; a brother, Francis (Hazel) Langdale of Evansdale; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: her parents; two brothers, Walter and Melvin Langdale; and three sisters, Betty Jean Langdale, Wilma Jones and Martha Jackson.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Public visitation from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials: may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.
