WATERLOO - Virginia M. Krantz, 84, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Dec. 17, at her home, of pneumonia and cancer.

She was born Oct. 29, 1925, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Edward and Barbara Maria Lehman Hahn. She married Harold J. Krantz on Oct. 3, 1946, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waterloo. He died March 27, 1987.

She graduated from St. Mary's High School.

Survived by: five sons, John (Liz) of San Diego, Francis "Bud" (Teresa) and Alan, both of Waterloo, David (Rose) of Englewood, Colo., and Richard of Seattle; eight grandchildren, Addison (Jill) Krantz, Matthew (Gina) Krantz and Nicolas Kovack, all of San Diego, Chad (Carrie) Riechmann and Brad (Brooke) Krantz, both of Waterloo, Kambriah and Alexander Krantz of Englewood, and Aaron Krantz of Madison, Wis.; six great-grandchildren, Madeline Krantz, Caleb and Cooper Riechmann and Bailey, Betsy and Brady Krantz; and three nieces, Janice "Janney" (Jerry) Oberheu, Karen Hahn and Carol (Bill) Stallkamp.

Preceded in death by: four brothers, Ralph, Cleo (Dorothy), Kenneth (Eunice) and Francis "Fritz" (Lucille) Hahn.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4:30 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Monday at the church.
