CEDAR FALLS - Charles Alphonse Ruhlmann, 79, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Nov. 21, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 21, 1930, in Atchison, Kan., son of Alphonse Charles and Rowena Hawkins Ruhlmann. He married Morlene Hoffman on Aug. 25, 1956. She died April 11, 1996.

Mr. Ruhlmann served his apprenticeship in pattern making both in Atchison and Kansas City. He was employed as a pattern maker with John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works in the foundry and then PEC from 1968 to 1992. He served in the National Guard.

Survived by: a son, Phillip (Sara) of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Stephanie (Dennis) Bonath of West Des Moines and Cecilia Ruhlmann of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren, Justin Charles Bonath of West Des Moines and Madison Morlene Ruhlmann of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Thomas (Patricia) of Cedarburg, Wis.; a brother-in-law, Patrick Bryne of New Jersey; and a sister-in-law, Theresa Ruhlmann of Maryland.

Preceded in death by: a brother, John; and a sister, Rowena Bryne.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Home, with a 4:30 p.m. rosary.
