WATERLOO - Leslie Milton Balster, 89, of Waterloo and Scotch Grove, died Sunday, Nov. 15, at home in Waterloo following a brief illness.

He was born Sept. 9, 1920, in Monticello, son of Arend Jr. and Hermine Margaretta Hedden Balster. He married Jean McNeilly on Nov. 29, 1941. She preceded him in death Sept. 20, 1988. He married Wilma Yount Prieratt on April 6, 1991.

He graduated from Monticello Community Schools in 1939 and attended Iowa State University. He returned to the family business, Balster Implement and Parts Co. in Scotch Grove, and continued to operate his business until the time of his death.

Survived by: his wife; two sons, Steve of Seattle and Dr. David (Barb) of Monticello; two daughters, Lynn Liontos of Eugene, Wash., and Susan (Yorgos) Zazas of Miami Lakes, Fla.; and two grandsons.

Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Center Junction Presbyterian Church, Center Junction, with burial in North Madison Pioneer Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello.
