CEDAR FALLS - Leatha Bell Powell-Podvin, 72, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Nov. 14, at Cedar Falls Health Care Center.

She was born Nov. 23, 1936, in New Hartford, daughter of Lee and Evelyn Early Sells. She married Ronald Powell on Aug. 8, 1958, in New Hartford. He died Jan. 8, 1970. She married John Podvin on Sept. 19, 1970, in Cedar Falls.

She graduated from high school in Roberts, Wis., and was a homemaker.

Survived by: her husband; three sons, Brian (Dianna) Powell of Waterloo, Greg (Karen) Powell of Dike and John Podvin Jr. of Minneapolis; a daughter, Denise Smith of Minneapolis; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Vera J. Vaughn of Amery, Wis., Donna Olsen of Hudson, Wis., Garnet Hartshorn of Jackson, Miss., and Anita (Dennis) Gumke of Clear Lake, Wis.; and a brother, Gordon (Joann) Sells of Little Rock, Ark.

Preceded in death by: a son, Robert Podvin; a twin sister and her husband, Leasa and Harm Bleeker; and two brothers, Kenneth and Neal Sells.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, both in New Hartford. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and for an hour before services Wednesday, all at the church. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, is in charge of arrangements.
