SCHREIBER, DAGE, CALLAHAN, COONEY

WATERLOO - Richard E. Schreiber, 70, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Nov. 1, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born July 27, 1939, in Bennington Township, Black Hawk County, son of Kenneth and Margaret Dage Schreiber. He married Judith Callahan on Sept. 19, 1959, in Waterloo.

Mr. Schreiber graduated from Orange Township High School. He was employed as an electrician at John Deere Tractor Manufacturing Co. for 36 years, retiring in 1994. He and his wife were members of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for 49 years, and he was a member of the Elks and Eagles clubs.

Survived by: his wife; a son, Jeffrey of Waterloo; a sister, Mary Ann Cooney of Waterloo; three brothers, Keith (Judy) of Marion, Robert (Melva) of Waterloo and George (Carol) of Wainright, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: his parents; a son, Thomas; a brother, Paul (Mary); a sister, Donna Schreiber; and a brother-in-law, John Cooney.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also an hour before services Thursday at the church.
