WATERLOO - Howard A. Haag, 83, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Oct. 29, at Covenant Medical Center of heart and kidney failure.

He was born Feb. 14, 1926, in Sumner, son of Louie A. and Marie H. Wegner Haag. He married Marilyn J. Kistner on May 16, 1954, in Sumner.

He graduated from Sumner High School in 1944 and was employed for 27 years at Rath Packing Co. in the sliced bacon department and retired in 1980.

Mr. Haag was a charter member of Ascension Lutheran Church.

Survived by: his wife; two sons, Eddy (Janice) and Randy (Beverly), both of Waterloo; a daughter, Colleen (Wade) Clark of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 11 extra grandchildren; an extra great-grandchild; a brother, James E. of Waverly; and a sister, Jane (Willis) Huck of Waverly.

Preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Raymond; two sisters, Marion and Marie Haag; and a grandson, Adam Clark.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ascension Lutheran Church, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials: to the church or Valley Lutheran School.
