CEDAR FALLS - Marvin L. "Bud" Bauer, 84, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Monday, Oct. 26, at Cedar Falls Lutheran Home of natural causes.

He was born May 19, 1925, in Buchanan County, son of Frank P. and Laura Mumford Bauer. He married Hazel Howke on Aug. 20, 1948, at Little Brown Church in Nashua. She preceded him in death in September 1983.

Mr. Bauer was employed at Rath Packing Co. for 42 years, retiring in 1983. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II.

Survived by: a son, Larry M. (Kathleen) Bauer of Ballwin, Mo.; a daughter, Barb (Larry) Wandro of Waterloo; a brother, Richard (Phyllis) Bauer of Waterloo; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a sister, Betty Miller.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.
