LA PORTE CITY - Dorothy M. Boisen, 89, of Le Sueur, Minn., formerly of La Porte City, died Thursday, Oct. 22, at Minnesota Valley Health Center, Le Sueur.

She was born on July 13, 1920, on the "Lincoln place" near Dysart, daughter of Emil and Wilhelmina Siemens Jans. She married Donevan L. Boisen on Feb. 21, 1938, in Van Horne. He died in 1982.

Mrs. Boisen grew up on farms in Tama and Benton counties and farmed with her husband in Tyrone Township, Le Sueur County, before moving to a farm east of St. Thomas.

Survived by: two sons, Gary (Judy) of Richmond, Minn., and Danny (Barb) of Le Sueur; two daughters, Ellie Depuydt of St. Peter, Minn., and Vicky (Joe) Laux of Blaine, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Loretta Blohm.

Preceded in death by: six sisters, Anna Zielstorf, Edna Johnson, Nadine Anders, Evelyn Kaestner, Helen Johnson and Eleanor Paulsen; and four brothers, Arthur Jans, Edward Jans, Melvin Jans and Dale Jans.

Services: 10 a.m. today at St. Thomas Catholic Church, St. Thomas, Minn., with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Le Sueur. Kolden Funeral Home, Le Sueur, is in charge of arrangements.
