JESUP - Mary M. Monat, 83, of Jesup, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, at ManorCare Health Services, Waterloo, following a long illness.

She was born June 5, 1926, in Black Hawk County, daughter of Nick Weber and Frances Even Weber. She married Victor Peter Monat on June 21, 1949, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Raymond. He preceded her in death July 8, 1984.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Raymond for many years and attended St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup for the past several years. She was a homemaker and a member of the church rosary society.

Survived by: four sons, Dan (Pat) of Jesup, Jim (Nancy) of Traer, Ted (Cindy) of Independence and Tony (Gertie) of Lansing; two daughters, Vicki (Kevin) Link of Phoenix and Angie (Dave) Floyd of Jesup; 24 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jeanne (Stan) Tuve of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: a son, Tom, on Oct. 9, 2009; three brothers, Clarence Weber, Ray Weber and Francis Weber; and a sister, Marcella Breuer.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, with burial in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Raymond. Public visitation from 2 to 8 p.m. today at White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a 3 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
