EVANSDALE - James Michael Frost, 76, of Evansdale, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, of natural causes.

He was born June 21, 1933, in Raymond, son of Jacob and Elizabeth Wirtz Frost. He married Dorothy H. Frost on Aug. 13, 1960, in Raymond. She died Sept. 8, 2006.

He graduated from OLVA in Waterloo and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He then was employed at Rath Meat Packing Plant for 32 years, and later employed at Lofty's in Evansdale.

Survived by: a son, Kevin J. (Susan) of Bloomington, Ill.; three daughters, Tamara J. Hastings of Waterloo, Kristy J. (Daniel) Lichty of Evansdale and Dawn M. (Lee) Mattox of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren, Nicole and Danielle Hastings, Tiffany, Carlie and Madison Frost and Jacob, James and John Lichty; two brothers, Ronald (Wilma) of Gilbertville and Paul (Luette) of Eugene, Ore.; a sister, Bernice Tomkins of Raymond; and a sister-in-law, Doris Frost of Tripoli.

Preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Edmund; and a sister, Lucille Frost.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Raymond, with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by Nugent-Demuth Post 714 of Gilbertville. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7:30 p.m. vigil. Visitation also for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
