WATERLOO - Judy Warren, 61, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of cancer.
She was born Feb. 29, 1948, in Elkader, daughter of Peter and Marie Langel Berns. She married Bennie Warren on April 22, 1972, at St. Mark's Church, Waterloo.
Mrs. Warren graduated as salutatorian from Garnavillo Community High School. She graduated with honors from UNI with a degree in social work in 1993. For the last 15 years she was employed with Workforce Development as a workforce advisor.
Survived by: her husband; a daughter, Kamille (Jon) Martin of Evansdale; a stepson, Kenny Warren of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Nikki Warren, Korine Warren, Jonathan Martin and Alyssa Martin; two great-grandchildren, Chloe Warren and Jack Douglas; four sisters, Barbara Farzan of Carmel, Calif., Mary (Charlie) Bries of Elkader, Karen (Jack) Kopecky of Altoona and Kathy (Brad) Schutte of St. Olaf; and three brothers, Pete (Karen) Berns Jr. and Fred (Carol) Berns, both of Elkader, and Duane (Ann) Berns of Des Moines.
Preceded in death by: her parents; a stepson, Kevin Warren; and a brother-in-law, Manu Farzan.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Judy and Bennie raised their family as well as taking in foster children for 14 years. Judy's family appreciates your support during this time of loss.
