CEDAR FALLS - LeRoy L. Corwin Sr., 68, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Oct. 4, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

He was born Oct. 9, 1940, in Cedar Falls, son of Lyell L. and Fannie Schneiderman Corwin. He married Sylvia J. Scott on Feb. 28, 1962, in Cedar Falls. She died Aug. 31, 1994.

Mr. Corwin served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1961, then was employed with John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 29 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Black Hawk Lodge 65 AF&AM, El Kahir Shrine, Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 and Eagles.

Survived by: a son, Le Roy Jr. (Angela) of Dike; his parents of Waterloo; a brother, Charles (Brenda) of Waterloo; and two grandsons, Nick and Brett Corwin, both of Dike.

Preceded in death by: three brothers, Richard, Lyell Jr. and Raymond; and a sister, Carol Gaffney.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Public visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, with a 7 p.m. Masonic memorial service by Black Hawk Lodge 65 AF&AM. Visitation also an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to Shiners Hospitals or Cedar Valley Hospice, in lieu of flowers.
