MUSSETT, TURNER, SIMMONS, STRICKLER, PHENNICIE, NELSON MESSINGHAM

WATERLOO - Edna G. Mussett, 100, of Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center, died there Tuesday, Sept. 29, of natural causes.

She was born Jan. 16, 1909, in Inkster, N.D., daughter of Herbert and Katie Turner Simmons. She married Orren Martin Mussett on March 31, 1929, in Waterloo. He died Dec. 18, 1992.

Mrs. Mussett was the Past Noble Dame of the Waterloo Elklettes and was a member of Linden United Methodist Church.

Survived by: three daughters, Irene (Donald) Strickler of Grundy Center, Evelyn Phennicie of Elk Run Heights and Janice (Kenneth) Nelson of Floresville, Texas; a sister, Ruth Messingham of Waterloo; eight granddaughters; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: six brothers, Lloyd, Rex, Wayne, Mervin, Leslie and Donald Simmons; and two sisters, Sylvia Simmons and Zelma Laylin.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation for an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.
