MIXDORF, MILLER, NEGLEY, JENNER, KARR, KRAMER, SMITH

WATERLOO - Ruby A. Mixdorf, 90, of Waterloo, died Monday, Sept. 28, at ManorCare of natural causes.

She was born Dec. 25, 1918, in Decatur County, daughter of Reuben and Clara Miller Negley. She married Albert A. Mixdorf on Dec. 24, 1939, in Waterloo. He died Sept. 2, 2008.

Mrs. Mixdorf was employed at Waterloo West High School as a study hall monitor for a few years and farmed with her husband in Black Hawk County for many years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Priscilla Circle there.

Survived by: three sons, Jon of Waterloo, Jay (Kathy) of Clear Lake and Jack (Sheila) of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Jeri (Gary) Jenner Karr of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Donna Hamilton of Waverly.

Preceded in death by: a daughter, Jo Ann Kramer; a brother, Gerald Wayne Negley; and a stepsister, Opal Smith.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, with entombment in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, and an hour before services Friday at the church.
