GARRETSON, COCKING, EIGHME, HOLMES, FOWLER, ROWSEY

WATERLOO - Leland Dean Garretson, 83, of Waterloo, died Friday, Sept. 25, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born Oct. 9, 1925, in Masonville, son of William and Emily Cocking Garretson. He married Bernice Nadermann at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, on Oct. 19, 1946.

Mr. Garretson was employed by Carnation - Swiss Valley Farms for 40 years as a territory sales representative, retiring in 1990. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survived by: his wife; a son, Larry (Kim Eighme) of Waterloo; three daughters, Leayn (Jim) Holmes of Hudson, Linda (Phil) Fowler of Waterloo and Loralee Rowsey of Helena, Mont.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Dale; and a great-grandchild.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Congregational United Church of Christ, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo American Legion Post 138 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1623. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway. Visitation also an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
