GILBERTVILLE - Theresa M. Klein, 81, of Gilbertville, died Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of natural causes.

She was born Sept. 23, 1928, in Gilbertville, daughter of John and Margaret Schommer Phillips. She married Norbert Klein on Oct. 5, 1948, in Gilbertville. He died May 3, 1996.

Survived by: four sons, Bob (Pat) and Dick (Linda), both of Gilbertville, David (Elizabeth Mashek) of Ankeny and Kelly (Denise) of Jesup; two daughters, Geri (Bob) Schmaltz of Raymond and Dona (Rod) Frickson of Evansdale; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 17 stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Hames and Marge Reuter, both of Gilbertville; and two sister-in-laws, Yvonne Phillips of Cedar Falls and Ida Phillips of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: eight brothers, Roger (Josephine) Phillips, Jim (Mary) Phillips, Gerry (Norma) Phillips, Joe Phillips, Leo (Lorena) Phillips, Andrew Phillips, John Phillips and George (Inez) Phillips; two sisters, Magdalen (Vince) Kurtenbach and Dorothy (Nick) Fischels; and two brother-in-laws, John Hames and Norman Reuter.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, both in Gilbertville. Public visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be 4 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the Immaculate Conception Legacy Fund.
