WATERLOO - Richard Paul Schommer, 71, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, in the parking lot of Bridges Retirement Community after a fall from his bicycle.

He was born Nov. 23, 1937, in Geneva, Neb., son of Bernard and Mabel Knowlen Schommer.

He retired from road construction.

Survived by: a brother, Anthony of Jefferson, Ohio; and two sisters, Marie (Melvin) Blanke of Geneva and Rose Anna Baker of Janesville.

Preceded in death by: a daughter, Heather Marie Schommer; and two brothers, John Richard and Bernard.

Memorial services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories. Public visitation from noon until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
