CEDAR FALLS - Lynn D. Hanson, 77, of Cedar Falls Western Home, died there Sept. 18.

He was born April 13, 1932, in McVille, N.D., son of Leonard and Verona Gossner Hanson. He married Cecilia Ann Craven on June 5, 1955, in Monroe. She died May 14, 2008.

Mr. Hanson served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was employed at John Deere for 35 years.

Survived by: a son, Jeff (Carole) of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Lisa (Randy) Mattzela of San Antonio and Lori (Brian) Smith of Pocatello, Idaho; nine grandchildren, Leif (Ashley) Hanson, Lauren Hanson, Connor, Spencer, Olivia and Janie Mattzela and Seth, Sydney and Garrett Smith; a great-grandson, Aidan Hanson; a brother, Keith (Janice) of Waterloo; two sisters, Beverly McGuire and Zona Richards, both of Waterloo; and a sister-in-law, Marty Hanson of Chicago.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Wayne; and a brother-in-law, Duane McGuire.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Monday at Ascension Lutheran Church, Waterloo, followed by full military by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Inurnment will be in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Public visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, Waterloo, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
