BRUIHLER, GUENTHER, BRUIHLER, OLSEN, RASMUSSON, MASHEK

CEDAR FALLS - Carl F. Bruihler, 92, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Western Home Communities Stanard Family Assisted Living Center.

He was born March 25, 1917, in Lansing, son of Gottfried C. and Ada Guenther Bruihler. He married Myrtle M. Olsen on Feb. 6, 1954, in Sumner. She died April 6, 2002.

Mr. Buihler graduated from Hawkeye High School, Hawkeye, in 1935, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He earned his bachelor's degree from Upper Iowa University in 1952 and his Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy in 1955 from Drake University. He worked as a pharmacist until retiring in 1989.

Survived by: three sons, John (Debra) of Rushford, Minn., Carl Jr. (Mary Kay) of St. Peter, Minn., and Bill (Ruth Anne Rasmusson) of Montenegro.

Preceded in death by: two sisters, Belva in infancy and Ruth Mashek.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with burial in Hawkeye Cemetery, Hawkeye. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Richardson Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
