CEDAR FALLS - Jake Folkers, 80, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Cedar Falls, died at home Saturday, Sept. 19.

He was born July 1, 1929, in Allison, son of Jake and Lizzie Siems Folkers. He married Gail Kesselring LaCoursiere on Jan. 1, 1983.

He was a truck driver before his retirement in 1996.

Survived by: his wife; a son, Junior of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Claudia Folkers of Cedar Rapids; two stepsons, Roger LaCoursiere Jr. and Jeffery LaCoursiere, both of Cedar Rapids; two stepdaughters, Theresa Ellis and Dottie Newlon, both of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Dawn Larson and Carrie Tusing; three great-grandchildren; a brother Richard (Delores) of Finchford; and a sister, Ruth Smith of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: his parents; two daughters, Margaret Daugherty and Shirley Mae Folkers; an infant son; three brothers, Ben, Fred and Raymond; and two sisters, Gertrude Van Lengen and Sena Adelmund.

Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today. Inurnment will be at a later date in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.
