KIRSCHENMANN, SHERMAN JOHNSON

HUDSON - Karen Ann Kirschenmann, 65, of Las Cruces, N.M., formerly of Hudson, died Dec. 25, 2009, at University Medical Center, El Paso, Texas.

She was born Dec. 15, 1944, in Port Chester, N.Y., daughter of Arnold and Eva Sherman Johnson. She married Lloyd Kirschenmann in March 2001, at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls.

She was an owner of Shady Oak Farms and was the first woman store manager in the Eagles Grocery Store chain. She was with the Hudson Volunteer Fire Department, where she was on the ambulance crew as an EMT-I as well as being a firefighter.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survived by: her husband; two brothers, Fred (TeriLyn) Johnson of Casper, Wyo., and Arnold (Bonita) Johnson of Deming; and several stepchildren/grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: her parents.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. May 12 at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls. At her request, her body was cremated.

Memorials: may be directed to the charity of the donors choice, particularly the Cedar Bend Humane Society, and the Hudson Volunteer Fire Dept.
