Debra Lyn Walters - January 3, 2010

Debra Lyn Walters was born October 24, 1954 in Waterloo, Iowa: the daughter of Robert James and Barbara Jean (Van Wey) Walters. She graduated from East Waterloo High School with the class of 1973. Debra married Russell Bartz and they later divorced. She was then married to Greg Oge and they later divorced. Debra had been employed at Maid-Pro where she enjoyed her work and made many good friends there. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, remodeling and building furniture, she made all sorts of things. Debra had a green thumb, she had flower gardens, a fish pond and she loved her cats.

Debra passed away at her home, suddenly, on January 3, 2010 at the age of 55.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Robert and Iris Walters and her maternal grandparents: Earl and Juanita Van Wey.

Debra is survived by her parents Robert and Barbara Walters of Waterloo; a son Adam Bartz of Waterloo; a daughter Brandi (Kip) Lewis of Waterloo; a granddaughter Kenzie Lewis of Waterloo and a grandson to be born this summer; 2 brothers: Bill (Angie) Van Wey of Elk Run Heights and Robert “Ponch” (Teresa) Walters of Waterloo; and a sister Kelly (Larry) Steele of Wichita, Kansas. Debra is also survived by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and a great-nephew. Debra will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
