David F. Bender

David F. Bender, 74, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 12, 2009, from complications related to Parkinson's disease.

Dave was born in Waterloo, and graduated from Waterloo East High School as well as Iowa State Teacher's College. A lifelong educator and coach, Dave will be missed by many, including his two children, Jay and Janelle; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and his only sister, Jackie Clark, all of Phoenix and his lifelong friend, Dee Bender Helm.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at First Baptist Church, Pella. PLEASE, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pella Community High School Athletic Department.
