William L. "Red" Hartmann (1929-2009)

Waterloo, Iowa - William "Red" Lloyd Hartmann, 80, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was born August 16, 1929, in Oelwein, son of William A. and Iona Lantz Hartmann.

Mr. Hartmann graduated from Oelwein High School. He worked as a meat cutter for many years in numerous towns in Northeast Iowa, and retired as a machinist for Viking Pump Co., Cedar Falls.
Survived by: four sons, Greg "Cork" (Diane) of Hazelton, James (Irene) of Columbus, Wis., Eric (Bridget) of Cedar Falls, and Kerry (Susan) of Cedar Rapids; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Hartmann of Arlington Heights, Illinois; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin; and a son, Steven.

Private family services will be held, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family in care of Eric.
