Fanell Harris

Waterloo, Iowa - Fanell Harris, 84, of Waterloo, died Friday, Dec. 11, at Windsor Nursing & Rehab Center, Cedar Falls.

She was born on September 27, 1925, in Durant, Mississippi, the daughter of Isaiah and Annie Cunningham McGee. She married Tom Harris in June 1940. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Harris graduated from Waterloo East High School, then moved to Chicago and worked as a licensed practical nurse. She returned to Waterloo and worked as a teacher's aide in the Waterloo Community School System. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Ray (Clozelle) of Waterloo; two daughters, Beverly (Watson) Hutchins of Moline, Illinois and Sharon (Cecil Ford) Harris of Fort Worth, Texas; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Antioch Baptist Church, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Services is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
