Ruth M. Harrison (1926-2009)

Waterloo, Iowa - Ruth M. Harrison, 83, of Traer, and formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, December 11, 2009, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

She was born Septembr 11, 1926, in La Porte City, daughter of George and Ida Wilson Hitt. She married Robert Harrison on February 21, 1948, in Waterloo. He died December 23, 1994.

She is survived by two sons, Steve (Rhonda) of Clutier and Randy (Gloria) of Bothell, Wash.; a sister, Maye Sturm of Jesup; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Lloyd Hitt.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, Waterloo, with burial in West View Cemetery, La Porte City. Public visitation from 9 a.m. until services Thursday at the funeral home.
