FRED KROLL DIES OF HEART ATTACK; BARBER 35 YEARS

Taken Ill at Shop of Which He Had Been Longtime Proprietor

Fred C. Kroll, proprietor of the Irving hotel barber shop for the past 35 years and long a familiar figure in Waterloo, died at 10 a.m. Monday of a heart attack at his residence, 216 First street west, only a few minutes after being taken home from his shop. He was 56 years old.

Mr. Kroll, in apparent good health recently, complained of a dizziness and weakness to his fellow-workers at the shop before 9:30 a.m. and on their advice was escorted home. He had suffered several lighter heart spells previously, his wife said.

Born in Waterloo
Fred Carl Kroll, son of Fred and Augusta Kroll, was born April 28, 1881, in Waterloo, was reared here and obtained his education in public schools of the city. He entered into the barbering trade as a young man.

On Jan. 10, 1912, he married Miss Gertrude Dryer of Greenville, Mich., who in addition to his two sisters, mourns. Surviving sisters, both of Waterloo, are Mrs. Fred Weiland, 563 Burton avenue, and Mrs. J.C. Knudsen, 205 Williston avenue.

Four Brothers Preceded
Four brothers, Carl, Emile, George and Louis, preceded in death, Louis passing away in January this year.

Mr. Kroll was a charter member of Waterloo aerie, Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

The body has been taken to the Kearns funeral home.
