OBITUARY: Waterloo Courier, 22 September 1947.
DEATHS - Carl Christensen, 48, of Route 6, Cedar Falls, an employee of the John Deere Tractor Co. for the last 21 years, died of a heart attack at noon Sunday as his family was bringing him to a physician's office in the Waterloo building.
The death apparently occurred in the automobile in front of the building.
Born Apr. 22, 1899, in Chickasaw county, the son of Frederick and Jane Christensen, Mr. Christensen married July 2, 1927 in Waterloo to Jeanette M. Moss, who survives with two sons, Robert G. and John J.; five sisters, Mrs. Anna McMullan, Decorah, Ia.; Mrs. E. B. Healy, Madison, S.D.; Mrs. Julia Larsen, Rutledge, S.D.; Miss Gertrude Christensen, New Hampton, Ia., and Mrs. Sophia Solsrud, DeKalb, Ill.; and a brother, John, of New Hampton.
A daughter, three brothers and a sister preceded Mr. Christensen in death,
Mr. Christensen was a member of Trinity American Lutheran church and of the John Deere Supervisors' club.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednsday in Kearns Garden chapel with Rev. G.E. Melcher in charge. Burial will be in Elmwood.
