Orlo C. Miller Dies; Active in Masonic Orders
Had 58 Transfusions; Former District Manager of Insurance Firm
Orlo C. Miller, 336 Columbia circle, lifelong resident of Waterloo and vicinity, and former district manager of the National Travelers Casualty company of Des Moines, died at 9 p. m. Tuesday at the home of his brother-in-law, John Golinvaux, seven miles southeast of Waterloo. He was 62 years old.
Death was caused by a heart attack, following a lingering illness of leukemia. During the past several years, Mr. Miller had received 58 blood transfusions, and his condition was regarded as showing favorable improvement until May.
Mr. and Mrs. Miller had been visiting at the Golinvaux home for the past two weeks.

Born in Orange Township.
Born Oct. 12, 1880, in Orange township, south of Waterloo, he was the son of William H. and Mary Miller. He attended Iowa State Teachers college and while a young man was employed at the Palace Clothing company for a number of years.
He married Clara Golinvaux on Feb. 28, 1911, at the Golinvaux family home in Orange township, the late Rev. W. H. Beachler of First Brethren church performing the ceremony.
Mr. Miller became identified with the National Travelers Casualty company of Des Moines and was associated with this company for 22 years and advanced to district manager, retiring 12 years ago.
He was a member of First Presbyterian church and, until illness forced him to become inactive, was a prominent member of a number of Masonic organizations. Mr. Miller was a member of Waterloo lodge, A. F. & A. M.; Becker chapter Order of the eastern Star, and Bethany Shrine, White Shrine of Jerusalem.

Widow, Daughter Survive.
Survivors besides the widow are a daughter, Mrs. Robert Schulze, wife of Lt. Robert Schulze of Biloxi, Miss.; his mother, Mrs. Mary Miller of Los Angeles, Cal.; two brothers, Walter W. Miller, 147 Graceline boulevard, Waterloo, and Russell L. Miller of Los Angeles, and a sister, Mrs. A. E. Weld, also of Los Angeles.
Also surviving is a year-old granddaughter, Diane Schulze, of Biloxi, Miss.
The body was taken to O’Keefe & Towne funeral home.
