Pioneer of Orange Twp. Dies at 91 / Mrs. Clara Miller Services Tomorrow

Mrs. Clara M. Miller, 91, died at 4 a. m. yesterday at Allen Memorial Home of complications due to advanced age.

Mrs. Miller had been a resident at the Home three years. She formerly lived at 935 Leavitt St.

Services will be tomorrow at 1:30 p. m. at Parrott and Wood funeral home with the Rev. H. H. Rowsey, pastor of First Brethren Church, officiating. She was a lifelong member of the church.

Burial will fooolow in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call at Parrott and Wood funeral home after 10 a. m. today.

Mrs. Miller was born in Orange township May 14, 1870, the daughter of a pioneer Black Hawk County couple, Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Sweitzer. She was the second eldest of five children.

She was married to Grant Miller Sept. 3, 1891, in Orange. Mrs. Miller is survived by two sons, Ralph E. of Walnut Court Apartments, and Lester W., 134 Windsor Dr.; a daughter Mrs. Lula O’Neill of 1523 Williston Ave., three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, a son, who died in 1922 and her husband, who died in 1953.
